The 2009 Love for Luanda Campaign closed in December 2009. Total donations, including EDG matching funds are $20,000! This is an exceptional accomplishment made possible by the outstanding participation of all five of EDG’s offices and is testament to the true character, sincerity, and generosity of the EDG employees and our clients.
The Love for Luanda Committee will distribute the funds as follows:
- Malembo Association – Malembo Association is the orphanage EDG has sponsored the last four years. Last weekend we had a celebration at the EDG Projectos Office in Luanda and brought the children into the city. Along with a fun celebration, each child was also given a gift pack. In addition, EDG will continue to provide funding throughout the year for their potable (drinking) water needs. The staff and children were very excited and grateful for what EDG has given them. - Centro Consolador Dos Aflitos – This is the second year that EDG is sponsoring this organization. Upon hearing word that this orphanage is being required to move, EDG made a commitment to help in the construction of a new accommodation. Through your kindness and generosity, EDG will be donating $10,000 to this effort early next year. Additionally, the EDG Projectos Office has donated a large screen TV and plans to have work day(s) to help with the moving. This orphanage houses 50 kids raging from 1 to 17 years old.
